TBN Partners with Cable Companies to Reach U.S. Inmates

Trinity Broadcasting Network is home to six different faith-based channels. In an effort to reduce skyrocketing recidivism rates, it is now making four of them available to inmates in jails and prisons across America completely free of charge to taxpayers. The initiative, known as TBN Second Chance, is receiving an enthusiastic welcome from correctional officials and prison chaplains.

Since the launch of TBN Second Chance in 2007, thousands of male and female inmates across the nation have gained access to consistently positive television programming. It’s a win-win for correctional officials, who can meet more of the faith-based needs of their prisoners without depleting one dime from already strained budgets.

Corrections officials say faith-based programming can make a noticeable difference in inmate attitudes. In prisons where TBN programming is regularly viewed, chaplains have reported positive changes in the way inmates behave, how they feel about themselves and how they view the future.
